COUNT DOWN TO THE UNVEILING OF THE RESTORED TOWER
On the evening of Saturday 27 May the city will take possession again of its famous Clock Tower in St. Mark’s Square after the important restoration work commissioned and financed by the Venice local authority. The unveiling, after ten years, of one of the Venetian monuments most famous throughout the world, will be a spectacular event. The appointment is for around midnight and will involve the square and entire city, artistic director Marco
Balich. The great feast in St. Mark’s Square, to which admission is free for the general public, will have the Venetians themselves as the main actors. In the next few days there will be a presentation of the evening programme, organized in co-operation with
Piaget, the Swiss watchmakers who have contributed to the restoration of the Clock movement;
Dottor Group, who carried out restoration of the monument; and
Cassa di Risparmio di Venezia.
